Quality bulbs that are Dallas Arboretum approved can help with this success, but bed preparation should not be bypassed. Properly draining soil that is loose and easy to plant in not only speeds the process, but vastly improve the success rate.
We use top quality bulbs primarily consisting of varieties that have Dallas Arboretum approval. We buy only bulbs that are pre-chilled and plant them within days of taking delivery. Bulbs sitting on the shelf at garden centers have very low success rates. We also prefer to prep bed areas when necessary so that they will have the best chance to thrive.
