We have been working our tails off this Spring with lots
of new and exciting projects. We just completed a micro-meadow garden in a townhouse yard that makes a stamp look big. Lots of fun perennials with a low growing sedge groundcover as a base. Will try to get some pics up in the near future. We moved frome that to a 10 acre lot down in Forney. Its an exciting project with lots of palnts and paths leading from house to pool. Not all of it is for looks though, lots of drainage issues and gravel drive to make a large lot function the way it is supposed to.
I just looked up and Spring is almost over!
May 12th, 2010Spring is just about here!
March 10th, 2010Well, It has been a long cold Winter, and I am ready for it to warm up a bit. We had another great bulb planting season, and they are starting to pop up and bloom all over town. Spring bulb planting seems to be a bit of a dying art, and I just don’t know why, they require very little attention and offer a beautiful surprise at the start of every Spring. This is my favorite time of year at the Dallas Arboretum, the beautiful and thoughtful design of thousands of Spring bulbs is an awe inspiring event. For anyone that has never been, I can’t recommend it enough. The only reason I can think of that makes bulbs less popular now, is the instant gratification society that we seem to be in today. Just think, if you would have planted bulbs back in December, you could be enjoying them right now, while very little else is in bloom. Its kind of like finding money in a coat pocket that you stashed last year, only it is there every year from now on.
Welcome!
March 8th, 2010Setting up this blog has been on my mind for a while. I hope it will serve as a way to keep you up to date on what we are doing, as well as some of my thoughts regarding gardening and landscaping with native Texas plants.
